RMT TMA.
Director of ICHM, established 1995
I trained at the London School of Sports
Massage in 1992 - 1993, qualifying with honours in 1993. Since
my return to New Zealand and the establishment of Inner City
Health Massage in 1995, I have completed a range of massage
therapy related courses including the Paul Chek Level II course
in Postural testing and exercise prescription. I am currently
a Registered Massage Therapist with the New Zealand Therapeutic
Massage Association, as well as an accredited massage therapist
with NZ Sports Academy for work with Carded Athletes.
My clientele has varied over the years to
include some key organisations and sporting bodies. These
include the London Contemporary Dance Theatre, London Crusaders
Rugby League, Auckland Warriors Rugby League, Tall Blacks, NZ Swimming and The All
Blacks. In 2002 I was the New Zealand Massage Therapist to
the Manchester Commonwealth games team. In July 2004 I
travelled to Athens as the massage therapist to the New Zealand
team for the Athens Olympic Games. In 2006, I headed the NZ massage team for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
My treatments vary from general therapeutic
massage to full body postural analysis. I utilise deep tissue
massage, myofascial release, stretching, relaxation, remedial
massage, sports massage, and trigger point therapy.
My philosophy is founded in my belief that
massage forms an integral cog in a human beings general well
being. Touch and palpation skills can assist with many of
the bodys imbalances. Whether the treatment is relaxation
focused or remedial, a skilled, well trained therapist will
produce excellent results. Massage has been part of the human
repair process from mans conception.
From the simplest form of rubbing
a tender area to the more studied and therapeutic forms that
are offered today I see massage as a key tool that
allows the body to relax, repair and recover naturally.
Glenn is currently completing his BHSc majoring in Acupuncture
